- Escape the city and discover the surrounding countryside forests
- Dine at the award winning Holgate Brewhouse for lunch
Description
Escape the busy city of Melbourne and head north to Woodend and the handmade trails of the Wombat State Forest. Weave through the trees and breathe in the crisp countryside air as you ride along this well-established, 17 km trail. Follow your guides along the circuit, embarking on a few exciting challenges along the way that will put your biking skills to the test.
Once you’ve built up an appetite, head to Holgate’s Brewhouse for lunch. Home to an incredible beer range that is all brewed on-site, the brewery is the perfect location to relax after a hectic morning of biking and refuel for an afternoon of fun. Take it easy on the beer though, as the best riding is yet to come!
After lunch, bike the 35-minute journey along the Calder Highway to the township of Harcourt, just outside the gold mining town of Bendigo. Spend a few hours biking along the 34 km of green, blue, and black trails, which have received millions of dollars of regeneration in recent years, producing the very best tracks and trails for all levels of skill and fitness.
After 4 hours of riding, a fantastic lunch, and a memorable adventure, it’s time to return to Melbourne, arriving in the city around 6pm.
