Action activity
Although the penguin parade doesn't commence until sunset, you're able to arrive from 11am onwards and there's plenty to keep you entertained. The wonderful boardwalks take you through the penguin colony and down to the beach where you can search out penguin burrows or look out for Australian fur seals and migrating whales off the beautiful, rugged coastline. Or, if you're a beach bum at heart, then grab your surf board and head to Flynn's Beach, Summerland Bay or Cat Bay and hit the waves.
Then, come sunset, the penguins come out to play, and you'll be just metres from the wonderful waddlers, parading around the beach. Unfortunately, due to their sensitive eyes, cameras and camcorders can't be used, which is a rule to ensure that the penguins keep coming back for guests to enjoy; but with such a spectacle, you won't need photographs for a lasting memory.
